Fists in Solidarity

Our Partners

Our student caseworker will work with students to refer them to appropriate supporting services. We often work with the following agencies:

GAMM, Incorporated- this non-profit organization works with our students to assist them in overcoming barriers that may keep them from completing their educational goals. They offer financial support in the form of hourly wages for attendance, stipends for fuel and childcare, and bonuses for completing classroom testing, the HiSET, and the WorkKeys test.

Missouri Job Centers- located in Hannibal, Columbia, Chillicothe, and Kirksville, our students are often referred to Missouri Job Centers for the following services

  • Search for jobs and training opportunities

  • Access jobs.mo.gov to search job openings

  • Get a referral to an employer with current job openings

  • Complete comprehensive work-related assessments

  • Learn or refresh your job-search related skills

  • Determine eligibility for formal skills training

  • Plan your career

Vocational Rehabilitation- If you want to work but have a disability that keeps you from finding, keeping or advancing in a job, Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) may be able to help you. VR specializes in employment and training services that can assist you in becoming employed.

Moberly Area Community College and Central Methodist University share a building with the Macon Family Literacy Center. Students who finish their HiSET exam can easily transition into taking college level classes there.

The members of the North Missouri Learning Center staff and students give special thanks to the City of Macon, Macon R-1 School District, Brookfield R-III School District, Monroe City Library, Shelby County Literacy Center, MACC-Kirksville campus, Gamm, Inc., Hannibal Job Center, and Grand River Technical School for their continued and generous support of the AEL program.
